What is Winzersekt?

Winzersekt is sparkling wine produced exclusively from the winery’s own grapes – in one hand from the vineyard to the bottle. Unlike industrial sparkling wines made from purchased base wines, a Winzersekt carries the signature of its origin: at Anton Bauer, these are the loess soils of the Wagram, hand-harvesting, and long aging on the lees for fine, consistent perlage.

Blanc de Blancs & Rosé Reserve

The Vintage Blanc de Blancs Reserve – made from Chardonnay, Grüner Veltliner, and Pinot Blanc – stands for freshness, citrus, and fine yeast notes. The Vintage Rosé Reserve made from Pinot Noir and Zweigelt shows delicate red fruit and a creamy structure. Both sparkling wines are also available in Magnum – the grand appearance for parties and anniversaries.

Serving Sparkling Wine Correctly

Well-chilled at 43–46 °F, in a white wine glass instead of a narrow flute – this is how fruit and yeast aromas unfold best.

FAQs about Sekt & Sparkling Wine

What is the difference between Sekt and Frizzante?

Sekt is sparkling wine from a second fermentation with at least 3.5 bar pressure – the perlage is fine and long-lasting. Frizzante is semi-sparkling wine with lower pressure, to which carbon dioxide is often added. Our vintage sparkling wines age classically on the lees and thus belong to the top tier of Austrian sparkling wines.
